Gingerbread house

kids made a gingerbread house (from a kit, with help from mom).  a certain boy ate most of the gumdrops when mom wasn't looking. but we were able to improvise with items from the pantry.

gumdrop boy was beyond disappointed that we were not going to eat the gingerbread house.

Carrying wood

we burn a lot of firewood.  we have a fire most nights now that is cold out.  that means we need to procure lots of firewood to burn.  a couple weeks ago, a friend of grandpa's offered up some cured wood he had on his lot and we jumped on that chance.  we drove over and filled up the back of the truck.  finley was lots of help.

finley saw his old friend santa statue at the christmas tree store.  (last year he spent the entire time talking to the statue.  this year, he was pretty certain this santa was not real.  but he still said hi just in case)
